# Dazza vs Crisp Hugo.

Hugo can cost less than Dazza per conversation, around $0.05 to $0.10 on Crisp’s own estimate, and Crisp hosts your data in the EU with a free plan and a help centre included. Dazza is the better fit when the AI must complete jobs within rules checked in code, verify customers and pass tests before launch, at a fixed price per conversation rather than tokens.

- **$149**: Dazza, 1,000 conversations
- **$120–$170**: Crisp, same month
- **Unlimited**: Seats on every Dazza plan

## Crisp or Dazza?

- Businesses that need data hosted in the EU.
- A hosted help centre and many channels for one workspace price.

### Dazza suits

- A price per conversation that doesn’t move with message length or tokens.
- AI that does jobs within rules, with verified customers and team approval.
- Testing on simulated customers before any change reaches customers.

## 1,000 conversations, worked out.

Change the numbers in the [cost calculator](https://dazza.io/guides/ai-customer-service-cost#table).

- 1,000 AI conversations a month, 5 people on the team, and the AI resolves 60% of conversations without a person.
- Prices in US dollars, excluding tax, on each vendor’s cheapest plan that fits, billed yearly where the vendor publishes a yearly price.
- Crisp publishes monthly prices, so Dazza is shown billed monthly too. Hugo is billed on tokens, so this uses Crisp’s estimate of $0.05 to $0.10 a conversation and assumes pay as you go is on once the credits run out.

### Crisp Hugo

Billed monthly

1. Essentials plan, 10 seats, $25 of AI credits: $95
2. 1,000 Hugo conversations at $0.05–$0.10, less the credits: $25–$75

### Dazza Growth

## Where Crisp is better.

If these matter most, Crisp Hugo may be the right choice.

### Lower cost per conversation

Crisp estimates a Hugo conversation at $0.05 to $0.10. Dazza’s extra conversations are $0.11 to $0.19 by plan, and Growth’s included ones work out at about $0.10 each when used in full.

### EU hosting

Crisp hosts data on European servers. Dazza stores data in London, with a choice of region on Enterprise.

### A free plan

Crisp has a free plan for website chat. Dazza has a 14-day trial with 100 conversations instead.

### White labelling

Crisp’s Plus plan removes the “We run on Crisp” mark. “Powered by Dazza” stays on every plan.

## Switching from Crisp Hugo.

Setup reads your site and drafts the agent. Most teams are live in an afternoon.

### Start from your web address

Sign up and give Dazza your website. It reads your pages, works out what the business does and drafts the agent. The trial is 14 days and 100 conversations, with no card.

### Import your Crisp help centre

Paste your Crisp help centre’s address in Knowledge, under Help centre. Dazza imports the articles under that address through its sitemap and adds new ones on each check. See [Keep knowledge up to date](https://dazza.io/help/keep-knowledge-current).

### Rebuild your Crisp chatbot flows as workflows

Describe each job in plain words and Dazza drafts the workflow: the details to collect, the decisions, and whether the customer confirms or your team approves. On Growth, connect Stripe, Zapier or n8n over MCP.

### Test, then swap the snippet

Run saved tests and simulated customers against the draft, then publish. Replace the Crisp chat code with Dazza’s one line, and forward your support email to Dazza to answer email too.

### Is Hugo cheaper than Dazza?

Often, per conversation. Crisp estimates $0.05 to $0.10 per Hugo conversation. For five people and 1,000 AI conversations, Essentials with Hugo is about $120–$170 a month and Dazza Growth is $149, both billed monthly.

### How is Hugo billed?

On tokens, so longer conversations and bigger knowledge sources cost more. Plans include $5, $25 or $75 of AI credits. When they run out, Hugo stops answering and conversations go to your team, unless you switch on pay as you go.

### Where does Dazza store data?

In London. By default, replies are written by Anthropic’s AI model in the United States, which isn’t allowed to train on your content. From Growth you can choose your own provider, and Enterprise plans can arrange another data region.

### Can Dazza import our Crisp help centre?

Yes. Paste your Crisp help centre’s address in Knowledge, under Help centre. Dazza imports the articles under that address through its sitemap and adds new ones on each check. See [Keep knowledge up to date](https://dazza.io/help/keep-knowledge-current).
