# Add the chat to Framer

Add one line as a script in your project’s Custom Code settings, at the end of the body on all pages, then publish.

To add an AI chatbot to Framer, add Dazza’s one line of code as a script in your project’s **Custom Code** settings, placed at the end of the body on all pages, then publish. It runs on your published site.

## Before you start

- **Copy your line.** It’s in **Settings → Install** in Dazza, with your agent’s key already in it:

```
<script src="https://app.dazza.io/widget.js" data-agent="dz_…" async></script>
```

- **Publish your agent.** The chat button only appears once your agent has a published version.

## Add it in Custom Code

1. In your project, open **Project Settings**, then the **Custom Code** tab.
2. Click **Add Script**, or **+** if you already have one.
3. Name it, such as “Dazza chat”, and paste your line.
4. Place it at the **end of the `<body>`**.
5. Leave the pages unselected, or choose all of them, so it runs everywhere.
6. Choose **Once**. The chat only needs to start once, and it stays put as visitors move between pages.
7. Publish your site.

In older versions of Framer, the same setting is under **Site Settings → General → Custom Code**: paste the line into the box for the end of the `<body>` tag.

## Check it’s working

1. Open your published site in a new private window and refresh.
2. Look for the chat button in the bottom corner, and ask it a question.
3. In Dazza, **Settings → Install** shows **Installed** and the address the chat was last seen on.

Check the published site rather than the canvas, where custom code doesn’t run.

## Common problems

| What you see | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| No chat button anywhere | Publish your agent in **Agent**. Settings → Install says so if it isn’t live yet. |
| No chat after saving | Publish the Framer site. Custom code reaches visitors when you publish. |
| No chat on your free Framer address | If you’ve listed **Allowed websites** in Settings → Install, add that address as well as your own domain. Subdomains are included. |
| The chat appears on some pages only | Check the script isn’t limited to selected pages. |
| Nothing loads and the code looks odd | Some editors turn straight quotes into curly ones. Copy the line again from Settings → Install. |
