# Add the chat to Wix

Add one line in your Wix dashboard’s Custom Code settings, on all pages at the end of the body, then check it on your live site.

To add an AI chatbot to Wix, add Dazza’s one line of code in your site dashboard under **Settings → Custom Code**, on all pages, placed at **Body – end**. Wix runs custom code on published sites with a connected domain.

## Before you start

- **Copy your line.** It’s in **Settings → Install** in Dazza, with your agent’s key already in it:

```
<script src="https://app.dazza.io/widget.js" data-agent="dz_…" async></script>
```

- **Publish your agent.** The chat button only appears once your agent has a published version.
- **Publish your Wix site and connect a domain.** Wix only runs custom code on a published site with a connected domain.

## Add it in Custom Code

These steps follow Wix’s guide for sites made with the Wix Editor.

1. Open your site’s dashboard and go to **Settings**.
2. In the **Development & integrations** section, click **Custom Code**.
3. Click **\+ Add Custom Code** at the top right.
4. Paste your line into the code box and name it, such as “Dazza chat”.
5. Under **Add Code to Pages**, choose **All pages**, and load it on each page your visitor opens.
6. Under **Place Code in**, choose **Body – end**.
7. Click **Apply**.

If the code runs again on a later page, the chat notices it’s already there and carries on, so the conversation stays put.

## Check it’s working

1. Open your live site, on your own domain, in a new private window.
2. Look for the chat button in the bottom corner, and ask it a question.
3. In Dazza, **Settings → Install** shows **Installed** and the address the chat was last seen on.

The Wix Editor’s preview doesn’t show it, so always check on the live site.

## Common problems

| What you see | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| No chat button anywhere | Publish your agent in **Agent**. Settings → Install says so if it isn’t live yet. |
| Nothing on the site at all | Check the Wix site is published and has a connected domain, then republish it. |
| No chat on your own domain | If you’ve listed **Allowed websites** in Settings → Install, add your domain. Subdomains are included. |
| The code was blocked | Wix’s security checks can block some snippets. Check the code is exactly the line from Settings → Install, then [tell us](https://dazza.io/contact) if it’s still blocked. |
| The chat appears twice, or not at all | You may have added it in two places, such as Custom Code and an embed. Keep the Custom Code one only. |
| Nothing loads and the code looks odd | Some editors turn straight quotes into curly ones. Copy the line again from Settings → Install. |
