# Saved replies

Write the answers your team gives most often once, then insert one by typing / in the reply box.

Saved replies are answers your team writes once and reuses. They’re shared across the workspace, and anyone on the team can add, change or delete them.

## Use one

In a conversation you’ve taken over:

1. Type **/** at the start of the reply box, then a word from the title or the reply. Or press **Saved replies** above the reply box and search.
2. Use the arrow keys to choose, then press **Enter**. Press **Esc** to close the list.
3. Check the reply and press **Send**. You can still change it first, or use the [copilot](https://dazza.io/help/copilot) to rewrite it.

The ones your team uses most come first.

## Add and edit them

- In the inbox, open the list and press **New** to save a new reply, or **Manage** to edit or delete them.
- Or go to **Settings → Saved replies**.

Each saved reply has a title, which is what you search by, and the reply itself.

## Fill in names and details

Use these in a saved reply. They’re filled in when the reply goes into the box:

| Variable | Becomes |
| --- | --- |
| `{customer_first_name}` | The customer’s first name |
| `{customer_name}` | The customer’s full name |
| `{customer_email}` | The customer’s email address |
| `{my_first_name}` | Your first name |
| `{my_name}` | Your full name |
| `{business_name}` | Your business name |

If Dazza doesn’t know something, such as the customer’s name, it’s left out neatly. *Hi {customer\_first\_name}, thanks for waiting* becomes *Hi, thanks for waiting*.

When you edit a saved reply, the buttons under it insert a variable, and a preview shows how it reads for a sample customer.
