# Slack alerts

Post handovers, approvals, requests and emails waiting for a reply to a Slack channel, each with a link to the conversation.

Dazza can post to a Slack channel whenever a customer needs your team, so nobody has to watch the inbox.

This page is about alerts for your team. To have Dazza answer people in Slack itself, in threads and Slack Connect channels, see [Slack: answer customers](https://dazza.io/help/slack-answer-customers).

## What gets posted

- **A handover**: who the customer is, why they need a person and Dazza’s summary.
- **An approval**: a workflow is waiting for the team to approve it, with the details the customer gave.
- **A request**: a workflow sent the team a request.
- **A new email that needs a reply**: Dazza drafted a reply for you to check (in Draft mode, or past the daily sending limit), or the thread is already with the team.
- **A reply that’s overdue**: a conversation passed its [reply target](https://dazza.io/help/reply-targets), with its priority and who has it. Once per conversation.

Each post is a short summary with a link straight to the conversation in the inbox. Conversations in the Agent preview never post.

These are the same moments the team is emailed about, plus emails waiting for a reply. Slack alerts go to the channel whatever each person chooses for their own emails.

## Connect a channel

You need to be a workspace admin in Dazza, and able to add apps in Slack.

1. At [api.slack.com/apps](https://api.slack.com/apps), create an app for your Slack workspace.
2. Under **Incoming Webhooks**, turn them on, choose **Add New Webhook** and pick the channel.
3. Copy the webhook URL. It starts `https://hooks.slack.com/services/`.
4. In Dazza, open **Settings → Notifications → Slack alerts**, paste it and choose **Connect Slack alerts**.

Dazza sends a test message before it saves the URL, so you’ll know straight away if it works. The URL is encrypted and only shown partly.

## Afterwards

- **Send a test** posts a test message.
- **Change** swaps in a new webhook, for another channel.
- **Remove** stops posting.

Settings shows when Dazza last posted. If Slack stops accepting posts (the channel was archived, or the app removed), the reason shows there too.
