Dazza works as an app on your phone. Add it to your Home Screen and it opens straight to your inbox, shows how many conversations are waiting on its icon, and sends you a notification when a customer needs you. Tap the notification and you’re in the conversation, ready to reply.

There’s nothing to download from an app store, and it’s included on every plan.

Add Dazza to your phone

You’ll find these steps in Settings → Notifications → Add Dazza to your phone too, for the phone you’re holding.

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open app.dazza.io in Safari and sign in.
  2. Tap Share (the square with an arrow) in Safari’s toolbar. In Chrome, it’s at the top, beside the address.
  3. Scroll down, choose Add to Home Screen, then Add.
  4. Open Dazza from your Home Screen.

Android

  1. Open app.dazza.io in Chrome and sign in.
  2. Chrome may offer to install Dazza. If it doesn’t, tap the menu ⋮, then Add to Home screen or Install app, and choose Install.
  3. Open Dazza from your Home Screen or app drawer.

Computer

You don’t need to, but you can: in Chrome or Edge, select the install icon at the right of the address bar; in Safari on a Mac, choose File → Add to Dock. Dazza then opens in its own window.

On iPhone and iPad, notifications only work in the app on your Home Screen, not in Safari tabs, and need iOS 16.4 or later. Add Dazza to your Home Screen first, then turn them on from there.

Turn on notifications

The first time you open the inbox in the app, Dazza asks if you’d like notifications. Tap Turn on notifications, then Allow when your phone asks. You can also do it any time in Settings → Notifications → Push notifications.

Dazza never asks your phone for permission until you tap the button, and it only asks once in the inbox. Send a test checks it’s working.

Notifications work in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on a computer too: turn them on in Settings from that browser.

What you’ll hear about

Each notification shows the customer’s name, what happened and the first line of what they wrote, for example:

Taylor Brooks
Asked for a person · Can I move my appointment to Friday?

Choose what reaches you under Notify me about. Your choices apply to all your devices, and they’re yours alone: nobody else sees or changes them.

  • Handovers: Dazza hands a customer to the team, a workflow needs your approval or sends the team a request, or an email draft needs checking. If your workspace shares handovers out in turn, only the person it goes to hears about it.
  • Conversations assigned to me: a teammate gives you a conversation.
  • New messages in my conversations: a customer writes again in a conversation that’s yours. A few quick messages buzz once, not three times.
  • Replies overdue: a conversation passes its reply target.
  • Daily summary (off unless you turn it on): each morning, what’s waiting for the team and how the last 24 hours went. It arrives at 8am in your workspace’s time zone, or when you open if you’ve set opening hours, and not on days you’re closed.

Each conversation keeps one notification on your phone, so the newest message replaces the last. The number on the app’s icon is how many conversations are waiting for the team.

Quiet times

  • Away: while you’re marked away (Settings → Team inbox, or the switch in the inbox), your devices stay quiet.
  • Quiet outside opening hours: under More options, turn this on and you won’t get notifications while your team is closed. Emails still go at any hour.

Otherwise notifications arrive whenever a customer needs you, like the team emails.

Your devices

Settings → Notifications lists every phone and browser you’ve turned on, with when each last got a notification. Remove stops one getting them, for example a phone you no longer use. Turn off does the same for the device you’re on.

If a phone stops accepting notifications (you deleted the app, or turned them off in your phone’s settings), Dazza removes it by itself. If one fails for another reason, the reason shows beside it.

Working on your phone

On a phone, the inbox has Inbox, Contacts and Home along the bottom, and More for everything else. An open conversation takes the whole screen, with the reply box just above the keyboard. Tap ← to go back to the list.

If notifications don’t arrive

  • iPhone: check Dazza is on your Home Screen and you turned notifications on from the app, not Safari. Then check Settings → Notifications → Dazza on your iPhone, and that Focus isn’t hiding them.
  • Android: press and hold the Dazza icon, choose App info → Notifications, and allow them.
  • Blocked by mistake? Dazza can’t ask again once you’ve said no. Allow notifications in your phone’s or browser’s settings, then turn them on in Dazza.
  • Still nothing? Use Send a test in Settings. If a device shows why the last one didn’t arrive, remove it and turn notifications on again from that device.
