Connect Shopify
Let Dazza answer “where’s my order?” with live tracking, check stock, and cancel or redirect orders that haven’t been sent, with your shop’s own credentials.
Shopify is built into Connections. Once it’s connected, Dazza can look up a customer’s order, give them the carrier, tracking number and tracking link, check what’s in stock, and, if you allow it, cancel an order that hasn’t been sent or change where it’s going.
There’s no app to install from the Shopify App Store. You make your own app in Shopify, give it the access Dazza needs, and paste its credentials into Dazza.
Create the app in Shopify
Since 1 January 2026, Shopify makes new custom apps in its Dev Dashboard.
- In your Shopify admin, open Settings → Apps → Develop apps, then Build apps in Dev Dashboard. Sign in as the store owner, or as staff with the Develop apps permission.
- Choose Create app, start from the Dev Dashboard, and name it “Dazza”.
- On the new version, set the App URL to
https://shopify.dev/apps/default-app-home(Dazza doesn’t need one) and add these scopes:
Leave outread_orders,read_products,read_inventory,write_orderswrite_ordersif Dazza shouldn’t cancel orders or change addresses. Addread_all_ordersif customers ask about orders more than 60 days old. - Release the version, then Install app on your store. If Shopify asks for a distribution method, choose Custom distribution and enter your store’s address.
- In the app’s Settings, copy the Client ID and secret.
Connect it in Dazza
In Connections, choose Shopify and enter:
- your store’s address, the one ending
myshopify.com(Shopify shows it under Settings → Domains); - the Client ID and secret.
Dazza asks Shopify for a token straight away, so you’ll know at once if something’s wrong. Shopify’s tokens last 24 hours; Dazza gets a new one before each runs out. Credentials are encrypted and never shown again.
Already have a custom app from before 2026?
Apps made in the Shopify admin before 2026 still work. Choose Admin token and paste the app’s Admin API access token, which starts shpat_. Make sure its Admin API scopes include the ones above.
The tools
| Tool | What it does | Starts as |
|---|---|---|
| Look up an order | What was ordered, payment, delivery status and total | Runs straight away |
| Track an order | Each shipment’s status, carrier, tracking number, tracking link and expected delivery | Runs straight away |
| Recent orders | The customer’s five latest orders | Verified customers only, always |
| Check a product and stock | Prices, options and what’s in stock | Runs straight away |
| Cancel an unfulfilled order | Cancels, refunds to the original payment method, restocks and emails Shopify’s confirmation | Customer confirms, verified customers only |
| Change the delivery address | Changes where an unsent order goes | Customer confirms, verified customers only |
Every tool starts Off. Switch each one to Test to try it in the Agent preview, then Live. As with any connection, you choose whether the customer confirms first, whether only verified customers can use it, and whether the team approves first. See Connect your tools over MCP.
If a tool needs a scope the app doesn’t have, Dazza says which one under the tool. Add it in Shopify, release a new version, reinstall the app, then choose Check connection.
Who sees what
Order details only ever go to the person the order belongs to:
- To look up or track an order, the customer gives the order number and the email they ordered with. Both must match. If they don’t, Dazza says it can’t find a matching order, without saying whether the order exists.
- Recent orders, and cancelling or changing an address while Only for verified customers is on, only work with orders placed with the email the customer confirmed, or is signed in with on your site. See Verify your customers.
- Someone who only typed their email sees the town and postcode an order is going to, not the full address.
- Cancelling and changing addresses only work for orders that haven’t been sent, even partly.
Every run is in the conversation for your team, and in the tool’s run count on the Connections page.
Shopify through Zapier
If you connected Shopify through Zapier before, the built-in connection is quicker and only shows orders to the customer they belong to. You can keep both, but switch off the Zapier tools that do the same job, so Dazza doesn’t have two ways to look up an order.
