Add the chat to Webflow
Paste one line into Site settings → Custom code → Footer code, save, publish, and check it on the published site.
To add an AI chatbot to Webflow, paste Dazza’s one line of code into Site settings → Custom code → Footer code, save, then publish your site. Webflow adds it before </body> on every page. Custom code needs a paid site plan, or a Core, Growth, Agency or Freelancer workspace.
Before you start
- Copy your line. It’s in Settings → Install in Dazza, with your agent’s key already in it:
<script src="https://app.dazza.io/widget.js" data-agent="dz_…" async></script>
- Publish your agent. The chat button only appears once your agent has a published version.
Paste it into Footer code
- Open your site’s Site settings.
- Go to the Custom code tab.
- Paste your line into Footer code.
- Click Save changes.
- Publish your site, to your webflow.io address, your own domain, or both.
To show the chat on only some pages, paste the line into those pages’ settings instead, in the Before </body> tag box.
Check it’s working
- Open the published site in a new private window and refresh.
- Look for the chat button in the bottom corner, and ask it a question.
- In Dazza, Settings → Install shows Installed and the address the chat was last seen on.
Custom code goes live when you publish, so check the published site rather than the Designer.
Common problems
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| No chat button anywhere | Publish your agent in Agent. Settings → Install says so if it isn’t live yet. |
| No chat after saving | Publish the Webflow site. Saved custom code only goes live when you publish. |
| The Custom code tab can’t be edited | Custom code needs a paid site plan, or a Core, Growth, Agency or Freelancer workspace. |
| No chat on webflow.io | If you’ve listed Allowed websites in Settings → Install, add your-site.webflow.io as well as your own domain. Subdomains are included. |
| The code shows as text on a page | It went into a text element. Use Footer code, or the page’s own custom code settings. |
| Nothing loads and the code looks odd | Some editors turn straight quotes into curly ones. Copy the line again from Settings → Install. |
