A nudge is a short message that appears above the chat button on your website, such as “Not sure which plan fits? Ask me.” on your pricing page. Clicking it opens the chat, with your message as Dazza’s first line.

Add a nudge

In Agent → Nudges, press Add a nudge and set:

  • Message, up to 160 characters.
  • Show on: every page, pages whose address contains some text, or one exact address.
  • After: how many seconds to wait, from 0 to 300.
  • Who sees it: every visit, or only a visitor’s first visit.

Nudges are part of your draft. Press Publish to show them on your website.

Which pages match

  • Address contains pricing matches /pricing and /pricing/teams.
  • Address is /contact matches /contact and /contact/, and no other page.

Capital letters don’t matter. If you paste a full web address, only the part after the domain is used.

How visitors see them

  • At most one nudge per page view: the first one in your list that fits the page.
  • Never while the chat is open, and not again once the chat has been opened on that page.
  • A visitor who closes a nudge, or opens the chat from it, doesn’t see it again during that visit.
  • A first visit is the visitor’s first time on your site in that browser.

A nudge isn’t a conversation. It only appears in your inbox and Insights once the visitor writes, with your nudge shown as Dazza’s first message.

Try it in the preview

The preview in Agent shows your nudge above the chat button. Click it to open the preview chat from it, and see how Dazza carries on.

Made to sit quietly on your page

The nudge floats above your page, so nothing on the page moves. Screen readers announce it without moving the visitor’s focus, Escape closes it, and visitors who have asked their device for less motion see it without animation.
